Project Outline
Sixth formers from Huntington School worked with animator Richard Jousiffe to create two short films inspired by the York Castle Museum's, Military Gallery.
One film shows soldiers being conscripted during wartime, as victims on an army production line. The second tells a more humourous story of a lone soldier approached by a threatening army. He has to choose the best weapon to use - with some amusing consequences.
Students used the Flash MX animation programme to produce their films. Sketches and preliminary ideas were discussed and students visited the Castle Museum to study military uniforms and weaponry.
These exhibits inspired the films which will be shown on screens in the Castle Museum from 1 May until 31 October 2004.
