Project Outline
Year 10 students worked with the National Media Museum on ideas based around the theme of sustainability.
Students worked in pairs or small groups to mind map ideas before creating their short animation sequences with computer animation software. Storyboards were created first to ensure the most appropriate shots were depicted in the film. Some students then worked with the software The Complete Animator, a drawing package that enabled them to animate their characters frame by frame. Others used clay modelling techniques and stop motion animation software to capture the movements of their characters.
Students worked with the animator to create original sound tracks using Audacity software, some students created a rap song while others chose to voice record and manipulate their voices with the pitch tool available in the program.
The work was edited with Windows Movie Maker and sound tracks added along with titles and credits. The work was shown to the whole school as part of a sustainability themed week within school.
