Project Outline

Students from year 10 worked with the animator to produce several short animation films using stop motion animation. Students created storyboards and animatics before designing and creating models from plasticine.

The animatics (storyboard frames recorded under the camera) were used to time the animation sequences before the final production stages began. Students created sets, props and background scenes along with models from clay. The film sequences were shot with DV cameras and animation software, frame by frame.

Windows Movie Maker was used to import the finishes shots and edit the whole film together. Sound was created with Audacity software and students were able to disguise their voices by manipulating the with the software tools. Some students also created original music with Acid express.
